Barrington and the surrounding Barrington Hills, North Barrington, and South Barrington communities sit on some of the largest residential lots in the Chicago region — horse country, in the literal sense, with equestrian estates, wooded acreage, and a walkable historic downtown built around the Union Pacific Northwest Line station. Homes here run large, and so do the rugs in them: oversized Persian and Oriental pieces sized for formal dining rooms and great rooms, wool area rugs in home offices and libraries, and antique pieces carried over from previous residences or inherited from family.
A rug that size, and often that age, isn’t a candidate for a carpet-rated cleaning rig. It needs to be assessed for fiber and dye stability, dusted to remove years of embedded grit, and hand-washed with chemistry matched to its construction — the same conservation approach Ghorban Ahmadi developed while performing conservation work for the State Hermitage Museum, the Musée du Louvre, and the British Museum. Everything is dried flat under controlled conditions, never in a heated dryer.
Our Services for Barrington Customers
Rug cleaning starts at $250 and covers hand washing for every fiber and construction. Rug repair covers reweaving, fringe rebuilding, and moth-damage restoration. Rug restoration handles heirloom and antique pieces that need more than a wash. Rug appraisal provides written documentation for insurance, estate, or resale purposes — useful for the inherited and high-value pieces common in Barrington households.
