Services & Capabilities
Do you clean all types of rugs?
Yes. We clean hand-knotted, flatweave, hand-loomed, tufted, and machine-made rugs in wool, silk, and blended fibers. Every rug is inspected for construction, fiber, and dye stability before we begin so the method is both safe and effective.
Do you repair and restore rugs?
Absolutely. We stabilize edges and fringes, re-weave holes, correct foundation issues (warps/wefts), and perform conservative color harmonization. Workmanship is designed to respect original pattern, density, and value.
Do you handle antiques and silk rugs?
Yes. Antiques and silk pieces receive specialized handling: dye testing, controlled chemistry, airflow drying, tension management, and documentation at each stage.
Do you make custom rugs?
Yes. We guide you from concept to installation: size, palette, texture, budget band, and target install date. Strike-offs or samples are prepared for approval before production.
Do you sell rug pads?
Yes. We provide cut-to-size pads appropriate for wood, stone, and carpeted floors. A quality pad reduces slip, cushions footfall, and extends rug life.
Pickup, Delivery & Logistics
Do you offer pickup and delivery?
Yes—insured, chain-of-custody pickup and delivery across Chicago, the North Shore, and surrounding suburbs. We provide appointment windows and protective wrapping.
Is my rug insured in transit and while in your care?
Yes. Coverage applies from pickup through delivery. Each rug is tagged, photographed, and tracked throughout the process.
Can you move furniture at pickup?
Light furniture (chairs, small tables) can be moved as a courtesy. Please remove fragile items in advance.
How should I prepare for pickup?
Clear breakables, provide access, and note any concerns (pet accidents, stains, moth activity) in your estimate form.
Do you offer short-term storage?
Yes—by request. Rugs are wrapped and labeled. For longer storage, we recommend climate control and a fresh cleaning prior to packing.
Estimates, Pricing & Payments
How do I get a quote?
Start with a photo estimate: upload front/back images and close-ups of any issues, plus your ZIP code. We confirm scope on intake and finalize the quote before work begins.
What does rug cleaning cost?
Pricing depends on size, fiber, construction, condition, and special treatments. For detailed ranges and factors, see our Oriental Rug Cleaning Cost Guide 2025. You’ll receive a firm estimate after inspection.
What’s the payment process?
Cleaning is typically invoiced upon completion. Some repairs and all custom projects require a deposit once you approve the scope. We accept major cards and ACH; trade billing is available for design professionals.
Do you price for odor removal or stain treatment separately?
When extra treatments are required (e.g., enzyme deodorization for pet accidents), they are itemized in your estimate so you can approve the scope with full visibility.
Timelines & Scheduling
What is the typical turnaround for cleaning?
Standard cleaning is usually 5–7 business days after approval. Repairs vary by scope; we’ll provide a schedule with your quote.
Do you offer rush service?
Yes—express cleaning (+15%) is available when capacity allows. Tell us your target date and we’ll advise feasibility.
How do I schedule pickup?
Request a time through the estimate flow or call us. We’ll confirm an appointment window and any access details (doorman, loading, parking).
What if I need to reschedule?
No problem. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can release the route slot and offer the next available times.
Cleaning, Stains & Odors
How do I know my rug needs professional cleaning?
Signs include dulling, odor, visible soiling, a dust cloud when you tap the back, and uneven pile lay. Family rooms often benefit from professional cleaning every 12–24 months; low-traffic spaces every 24–36 months.
Can you remove pet urine and odor?
Yes. We use targeted enzyme treatments during hand-wash to address both odor and contamination. Permanent dye loss cannot be “washed back,” but we’ll discuss cosmetic options if appropriate.
Will colors bleed during cleaning?
We test dyes first and tune chemistry, dwell time, and method to minimize risk. Sensitive pieces receive controlled techniques that prioritize dye safety and structural integrity.
Do you offer spot cleaning only?
We can address isolated spills; however, periodic full professional cleaning is recommended to remove embedded soils that cause fiber wear.
Repair & Restoration
Can you repair fringe and edges?
Yes. We re-bind edges, re-fringe or stabilize tassels, and match twist and tone so the finish complements the rug rather than drawing attention.
Can you re-weave holes and worn areas?
Yes. We perform knot-accurate re-weaves, pile reconstruction, and structure correction. We’ll discuss visual expectations and timelines before work begins.
Can you fix curling corners or waves?
Often. We identify underlying causes (tension, humidity, foundation distortion) and apply structural corrections or blocking. Results depend on condition and construction.
Do you provide color touch-ups?
We perform conservative color harmonization when appropriate. All cosmetic work is disclosed; our priority is a natural-looking result that wears gracefully.
Custom Rugs
How does the custom process work?
Share dimensions, palette, inspiration images, and a target install date. We guide material and construction choices to balance beauty, durability, and care. After approvals, we manage production and delivery.
What materials do you recommend?
Wool provides excellent resilience for most homes. Silk adds luster and definition in lower-traffic areas. We’ll explain trade-offs for blends and textured yarns so you can choose confidently.
How long do custom rugs take?
Lead times vary by size and construction. We’ll confirm a timeline at proposal and keep you updated through delivery and placement.
Care at Home
How should I maintain my rug between cleanings?
Vacuum weekly (with the beater bar off for fringes and delicate piles), rotate 1–2 times per year, use a quality pad, and blot spills promptly with a clean, dry towel—avoid over-wetting.
What should I do about moths?
If you see casings or powdery frass, isolate the rug and contact us. We’ll outline cleaning and prevention. Regular vacuuming (including under the rug), rotation, and clean floors help deter activity.
Can I use household cleaners on my rug?
Avoid harsh chemicals and high-alkaline cleaners; they can strip finishes, shift dyes, or damage fibers. Blot with dry towels first; if needed, use a small amount of cool water and contact us for guidance.
Insurance, Documentation & Provenance
Do you provide documentation for insurers or appraisers?
Yes. We can furnish condition notes and work documentation with photography. If you need a formal appraisal, we can refer you to qualified appraisers.
Will you photograph my rug?
Yes. We document condition on intake, during work as needed, and at completion for quality control and your records.
Trade & Partnerships
Do you work with interior designers and the trade?
Yes. We offer project support, white-glove logistics, and trade billing for qualified partners. Share project timelines early so we can align on lead times.
Can you coordinate delivery with installers or building staff?
Yes. Provide access instructions and contact details; we’ll coordinate placement and pad fitting as requested.
What to Expect
What happens after I approve the quote?
We proceed with the agreed service, update you as milestones are reached, complete quality checks, then coordinate insured delivery and placement. You’ll receive care guidance for the first 24–48 hours at home.
How will my rug return?
Clean, dry, groomed, and wrapped for protection. On request, we’ll help place and fit the rug pad and review care tips.
Still have questions?
Send us photos and a brief note about your rug. We’ll recommend the best path forward and schedule insured pickup at your convenience.
